Dhiraagu has recorded an income of USD 39.5 million in the third quarter of this year.
The amount is a decrease of 1% compared to the USD 39.9 million generated as revenue in the second quarter of this year. According to the financial report published by Dhiraagu for the third quarter of this year, the company earned USD 12.3 million in the third quarter which is also a decrease compared to the second quarter.
As per the statistics, the revenue generated from mobile services decreased significantly in the third quarter. As such, USD 21.02 million was generated from mobile services in the last quarter while the figure stood at USD 21.9 million in the second quarter.
Moreover, statistics showed revenue from fixed broadband services grew in the third quarter and amounted to USD 17.33 million. The statistics also showed Dhiraagu earned USD 16.8 million as fixed broadband revenue in the second quarter.
Dhiraagu revealed the main reason for the decline in income and profits was to reduce the price of internet services provided during the third quarter of this year. Dhiraagu also noted the decrease in tourist arrivals to the Maldives due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the decrease in revenue generated from roaming services also contributed to the revenue decrease.
