A local non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Dhidhdhoo, Haa Alifu Atoll has established a community park in the island with support from the Bank of Maldives (BML) Community Fund.

The park was opened by Middle Sports Club, an island based NGO that submitted the winning proposal. The aim of the project is to create a space for the community to gather in their leisure time and strengthen community bonds. The park, located near the beach, is equipped with barbeque facilities, seating areas and an outdoor library for reading enthusiasts in the community.

Commenting on the project, Nashwan Ibrahim from Middle Sports Club noted Dhidhdhoo has the largest population in the atoll but have very few places where residents can gather for recreational activities.
