Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services has announced plans to conduct an event to showcase the talents and skills of disabled persons.
The event titled “Riveli Thari”, aims to provide an opportunity for disabled persons to showcase their wide range of skills and talents, and to help promote and market their products. It also aims to encourage more disabled persons to develop and use their skills to generate their own income.
The gender ministry stated the event will be held virtually, with all participants presenting a 2-5 minute video. The ministry said all videos and information will be shared with the public through social media.
The gender ministry further stated the deadline for application to participate in the event is November 15. Further information about the event can be obtained through the gender ministry.
The government has been conducting various programmes and events to promote the rights of disabled persons. As such, the government introduced the “Riveli Award” in 2019 to recognise the achievements of disabled persons.
