Over 200,000 tourist arrivals recorded from India this year

Ministry of Tourism has revealed over 200,000 tourist arrivals have been recorded in the Maldives from India this year.

As per the latest statistics of the tourism ministry, 204,530 tourists have visited the Maldives from India this year, as of October 5. India is the top source market of tourists to the Maldives this year, contributing 23% of all tourist arrivals.

As per the statistics, the Maldives has recorded 890,363 tourist arrivals this year, as of October 5. This is a 119.9% increase compared to the same period last year, but a 30% decrease compared to the same period in 2019.

Russia is the second largest source market of tourists to the Maldives this year, with 174,095 tourist arrivals recorded as of October 5. This represents 19.2% of all tourist arrivals this year. The third largest number of arrivals have been recorded from Germany, with 55,707 arrivals.

As per the statistics, the Maldives currently records an average of 3,203 tourist arrivals per day. Tourists are spending an average of 9 days in the Maldives.
