Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) Thoyyib Mohamed has revealed plans to strengthen relations at the World Travel Market (WTM).
The WTM fair is an event that brings together the travel industry through world-leading events, content, and digital tools, which make it easier to find personal and business opportunities and do more effective business. WTM supports the growth of businesses and the global travel industry by facilitating new connections and lasting business relationships, and by applying global networks and expertise to local markets.
The event also offers the business to business networking opportunities for the international community of travel professionals. Although the event was held virtually last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the WTM fair will be a physical event this year.
MMPRC stated 98 representatives from 58 Maldivian companies will be participating in the WTM event.
Speaking to PSM News, Managing Director Thoyyib Mohamed said MMPRC will be focused on strengthening and rejuvenating its relations with the international travel industry to make up for the loss of connections in the past two years. Thoyyib said the Maldivian representatives will be meeting with members of the international travel industry and tour operators and assuring them of the country's strict safety and health standards.
He also revealed that Visit Maldives will begin a campaign at WTM to promote meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) tourism in the Maldives.
