Cafes and restaurants in Addu permitted to resume dine-in services

Addu Emergency Operation Centre (AEOC) has permitted the resumption of dine-in services from cafes and restaurants in Addu City.

AEOC stated the COVID-19 restrictions imposed in the city are being eased following the decrease in COVID-19 cases. As such, the centre announced that cafes and restaurants will be able to provide dine-in services from 0800hrs until 1800hrs, and delivery services from 1800hrs until 2200hrs. AEOC also stated salons will be able to operate from 0800hrs until 1800hrs.

AEOC has also permitted the resumption of prayer congregations in Hithadhoo, following the decrease in COVID-19 cases in the ward. The centre had previously permitted the resumption of prayer congregations in all other wards.

Over 500 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Addu City. AEOC revealed there are currently 52 active cases in the city, including 46 cases in Hithadhoo and 6 cases in Maradhoo.
