IGMH to facilitate online medical consultations for inmates

Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has signed an agreement with Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) to facilitate online medical consultations for inmates.

Under the agreement, IGMH will carry out consultations of inmates through Google Meet. MCS stated medical records of the inmate will be shared with the doctor one hour before the consultation, and arrangements will be made to carry out any necessary tests.

MCS stated the online consultations will help to ease the difficulties faced by inmates in seeking healthcare services. MCS noted such an arrangement is especially crucial at this time due to the current COVID-19 situation.
