Emirates has decided to increase the frequency of flights to the Maldives in order to meet the market demand.
Emirates currently operates 24 weekly flights to the Maldives, with a Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft. The airline revealed starting from March 28 until April 18, the number of weekly flights to the Maldives will be ramped up to 28, offering customers from around the world enhanced connectivity to the Maldives via Dubai.
Emirates is among the top carriers of tourists to the Maldives. As per the statistics of Ministry of Tourism, Emirates has carried the largest number of tourists to the Maldives this year. In this regard, the airline carried 39,801 tourists to the Maldives on 444 flights between January 1 and March 3 this year.
The tourism ministry revealed 32 airlines are currently operating international flights to the Maldives. This includes 23 airlines operating scheduled flights and 9 airlines operating chartered flights.
