Business Centre Corporation (BCC) has announced the decision to conduct a business pitch competition for young entrepreneurs in the Maldives.
BCC, which is operated under the Ministry of Economic Development, stated the competition aims to assist young entrepreneurs implement their business ideas and help them grow. BCC said the objective of the programme is to speed up economic progress by removing obstacles faced by small businesses and facilitate a conducive business environment.
BCC said the business pitch competition will be opened for individuals between the age of 18 and 35. The corporation said individuals can take part in the competition individually or as a team, from anywhere across the Maldives.
BCC said the competition will allow business ideas to be pitched from a wide range of sectors. BCC said 300 entrepreneurs will be provided assistance to take forward their ideas.
BCC has planned several programmes and activities to assist small and medium enterprises in the Maldives. As such, the corporation is set to launch a co-shared kitchen to be used by individuals selling food items from home. In addition, the corporation is also set to launch a co-work space facility, packaging facility, product certification service and SME rating system this year.
