Qatar Airways increases frequency of service to the Maldives

Qatar Airways has increased the frequency of its scheduled flights to the Maldives.

Qatar Airways announced the airline will operate four scheduled flights between Doha and Male’, although 3 daily flights were scheduled previously. The airline decided to increase the frequency of its services to the Maldives due to high demand among passengers.

Meanwhile, Qatar Airways has also extended the duration of its safe travel bubble between the Maldives and Qatar until the end of January 2021. The safe travel bubble was introduced by Qatar Airways for citizens and residents of Qatar who wish to travel to the Maldives. Tourists who travel under the bubble are required to test for COVID-19 before departure and undergo another rapid PCR test upon return. Those who test negative from this PCR test will not be required to undergo quarantine.

Qatar Airways was the first international airline to resume operations to the Maldives when the country reopened borders on July 15, more than three months after borders were closed due to COVID-19.
