Vice President holds discussions on improving healthcare for oncology patients

Vice President Faisal Naseem has held discussions with senior officials from the Cancer Society of the Maldives and other relevant authorities regarding the challenges faced by oncology patients, and how to improve the healthcare offered to them.

During the meeting held at the President’s Office on October 22, Vice President Faisal Naseem commended the Cancer Society of the Maldives for their diligence in raising awareness regarding cancer. He further praised their continuous efforts to provide support and help to oncology patients.

Representatives from the Cancer Society of Maldives shared the most pressing issues and challenges faced in providing services to oncology patients. They also briefed the vice president on their ongoing activities and programmes, as well as future activities in the pipeline.

Speaking during the meeting, Vice President Faisal Naseem highlighted the value of expediting medical services and treatment for oncology patients. He advocated for all organisations to work collaboratively towards easing all issues faced by the patients.

The meeting was joined by senior officials from hospitals in the Greater Male’ Region as well as senior officials of the President’s Office and other relevant authorities.
