Discussions have been held to enhance the economic cooperation between the Maldives and China following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The discussions were held during a meeting attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid, Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer and Ambassador of China to the Maldives Zhang Lizhong. The discussions focused on exploring economic cooperation between the two countries in a post COVID-19 environment.
In a tweet posted following the meeting, Foreign Minister Shahid acknowledged the discussions were productive, adding China continues to extend strong support in the economic recovery process of the Maldives, and other areas of mutual interest.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Zhang Lizhong also acknowledged important discussions were held in the meeting with the Foreign Minister Shahid and Finance Minister Ameer. He stated China is committed to more support and fruitful cooperation to benefit more people.
