COVID-19 death toll rises to 10 in the Maldives

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed a 92-year-old COVID-19 patient has passed away in the Maldives.

HPA stated the Maldivian man passed away while undergoing treatment at the DH11 facility in Dharumavantha Hospital. He is the 10th person, and the 5th Maldivian COVID-19 patient to pass away in the Maldives. His death came less than 24 hours after a 43-year-old Filipino COVID-19 patient passed away in the Maldives.

The first COVID-19 death in the Maldives was recorded on April 29, when an 83-year-old Maldivian woman passed away from COVID-19. The COVID-19 deaths recorded in the Maldives include 5 Maldivians, 4 Bangladeshis and 1 Filipino.

The latest statistics from the HPA revealed the number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives has risen to 2,382, with 1,954 recoveries.
