Maldives records 9th COVID-19 death

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed a Filipino national undergoing treatment for COVID-19 has passed away.

The foreigner who passed away was a patient who was shifted to Dharumavantha Hospital from Tree Top Hospital. This is the ninth COVID-19 related death recorded in the Maldives.

HPA said 11 COVID-19 patients are admitted for treatment and close monitoring in various medical facilities. This includes two patients undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at DH11 facility in Dharumavantha Hospital.

The latest statistics from the HPA revealed the number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives has risen to 2,336 with 1,927 recoveries and 9 deaths. The 9 individuals who have passed away include 4 Maldivians, 4 Bangladeshis and 1 Filipino.
