HPA publishes policy on reopening parks and public spaces

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has published the policy on reopening parks and public spaces following the COVID-19 pandemic.

The policy includes the safety measures to be imposed when parks, and public spaces are reopened as part of the eased lockdown restrictions in the Greater Male' Region. As such, the policy states safety instructions and information has to be visible at the entrance of the facility, as well as inside the facility.

Parks and public spaces are required to be cleaned at least once a day upon reopening for public use. Benches, seats and playground equipment used by children are required to be cleaned thoroughly with detergent.

HPA has instructed the public not to visit parks or public spaces if showing any COVID-19 like symptoms. Individuals visiting the facilities are required to wear face masks, and keep a minimum distance of three feet from others. Unnecessary touching of equipment or structures inside the park is discouraged.
