WHO donates another 5,000 COVID-19 test kits to the Maldives

National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) has revealed World Health Organisation (WHO) has donated another 5,000 COVID-19 test kits to the Maldives in order to increase the testing capacity of the country.

Speaking at the daily press briefing, Spokesperson of NEOC Mohamed Mabrook Azeez said the latest donation by WHO has been handed over to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), where the bulk of COVID-19 testing takes place in the Maldives. This is the fourth donation of test kits by WHO within this month. Each batch of donations consisted of 5,000 test kits.

Over 20,000 samples have so far been tested for COVID-19 in the Maldives. NEOC states this includes repeat samples.
