Maldivian brings in 8 tonnes of cargo from Sri Lanka

The national airline, Maldivian, has brought 8 tonnes of cargo from Colombo, Sri Lanka. This is the third cargo flight operated to Colombo by Maldivian.

Maldivian has scheduled a special cargo flight to Colombo every Sunday. The first cargo flight from Colombo carried 10 tonnes of cargo which includes fruits and vegetables, and some medical items.

Maldivian has commenced cargo flight operations to different countries in order to assist local businesses to bring in different types of goods to the Maldives. In this regard, the airline operates cargo flights to Colombo, Sri Lanka every Sunday and to Trivandrum and Chennai in India every Wednesday. In addition, the airline also operates cargo flights to Bangkok, Thailand every Thursday and to Dubai, UAE every Friday.

The national airline stated its cargo flight operations will be increased with additional destinations based on the demand.
