Maldivian brings 7.4 tonnes of goods from Dubai

The national airline, Maldivian, has brought in 7.4 tonnes of goods from Dubai, the UAE. The goods brought from Dubai mainly consists of fruits, vegetables and other essential items.

The global transportation system has faced disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While the Maldives is largely dependent on imports, Maldivian is exerting major efforts to carry all essentials required to ensure no shortages are faced in the market.

Maldivian has commenced cargo flight operations to different countries in order to assist local businesses to bring in different types of goods to the Maldives. In this regard, the airline operates cargo flights to Colombo, Sri Lanka every Sunday and to Trivandrum and Chennai in India every Wednesday. In addition, the airline also operates cargo flights to Bangkok, Thailand every Thursday and to Dubai, the UAE every Friday.
