Medical reports not required for visa extension

Maldives Immigration has announced medical reports are not required for visa extension during Public Health Emergency.

Due to the rapidly spreading COVID-19 worldwide, Maldives has declared State of Public Health Emergency on March 12. Following the decision, Maldives Immigration stated medical reports will not be required for visa extension during Public Health Emergency, as part of the efforts to restrict travel and to strengthen the precautionary measures against COVID-19.

However, Immigration further stated medical reports would still be required if applying for a work visa or other visas for the first time.
