Ministry of Foreign Affairs has revealed Maldivians will continue to get on arrival tourist visa from Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka halted on-arrival visa for tourists until further notice, under new measures to control and prevent COVID-19, after the first domestic transmission of the virus was reported. However, the foreign ministry revealed Maldivians will continue to get on arrival tourist visa to Sri Lanka as per the Agreement on Visa facilitation signed between the government of Maldives and government of Sri Lanka. A vast number of Maldivians travel to Sri Lanka every day, while about a population of 15,000 Maldivians reside in the country.
Sri Lanka has extended a 14-day quarantine period visitors from Iran, Italy and South Korea.
