Maldives Police Service (MPS) has stated Sri Lankan authorities have not confirmed the involvement of any Maldivian in the terrorist attacks of April 2019.
MPS issued the statement following reports citing Sri Lankan news outlets that four Maldivians have been arrested in relation to the terrorist attack in Sri Lanka on April 21, 2019. Citing Sri Lankan authorities, MPS said no Maldivian has been arrested in Sri Lanka in relation to the attacks.
MPS further assured its commitment in the fight against terrorism, stating the institution will continue collaborating with respective authorities in ensuring the security of the nation.
