The number of tourists arriving from Saudi Arabia to Maldives has increased significantly in January.
Statistics publicised by Ministry of Tourism showed 4,092 tourists arrived to Maldives from Saudi Arabia last January, while 2,162 tourists arrived from Saudi Arabia in the same month last year. Tourism ministry recorded the figure as a 30.9% increase.
Meanwhile, 3,006 tourists arrived from Switzerland last January, which is an increase of 2.4% compared to the same month last year. According to tourism ministry, 2,966 tourists arrived in Maldives from Switzerland in January 2019.
The statistics showed 177,140 tourists arrived in Maldives in January, including 173,347 arrivals from air and 3,793 arrivals from sea. In January 2019, tourist arrivals to Maldives was recorded at 154,969, including 151,552 from air and 3,417 arrivals from sea.
