Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has downgraded the alert level following the completion of the special national security operation to ensure the safety of tourists.
On December 24, MNDF raised its alert level to Yellow 2 and began a nationwide security operation. Upon completion of the operation, MNDF has now downgraded the alert level, adding the operation was a huge success. MNDF also appreciated the cooperation from the public during the one-week long operation.
MNDF said the alert level was raised across the country and an operation was conducted to ensure and strengthen national security and peace.
