DDcom continuing its mandate without interruption: President's Office

Spokesperson of President's Office, Chief Communications Strategist Ibrahim Hood, has revealed the Presidential Commission on Murders and Enforced Disappearances (DDCom) is continuing its mandate without interruption.

Speaking to PSM News regarding the progress of DDCom following the resignation of its president, the spokesperson expressed the resignation of Husnu Suood does not affect executing the mandate of the commission. Hood said the remaining four members of the commission are currently undertaking the tasks. He said efforts to appoint a president to DDCom is underway, adding the appointment will be made by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

DDCom was established in December last year. The commission revealed 29 cases are under investigation, while major cases were concluded by the time of the resignation of its president. Husnu Suood resigned from DDCom following the approval of parliament to appoint him as a judge at Supreme Court of Maldives.
