Journalists from German speaking countries to promote Maldivian Tourism

Five journalists from German speaking countries have arrived in Maldives as part of the familiarisation trip organised by Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).

The journalists belonging to Austria, Switzerland and Germany, represent the traditional media channels popular in their respective countries. The theme of the trip is to "Discover a Brand-New Luxury Experience". The journalists will be staying at luxury properties opened recently such as You & Me by Cocoon Maldives, Residence Maldives Dhigurah and Pullman Maamutaa.

This familiarisation trip is part of the many marketing activities initiated by MMPRC this year to promote Maldives as a destination in German speaking countries. This trip is also the third trip conducted for the German speaking countries this year.

Activities conducted in the region include participation in fairs such as BOOT Dusseldorf, ITB Berlin and FESPO in Zurich. Roadshows were also conducted in prominent cities such as Cologne, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich and Vienna along with other marketing campaigns.

Germany currently ranks 3rd in terms of arrivals to Maldives. A total of 151,414 arrivals have been recorded from Germany, Austria and Switzerland until October 2019. This is an increase from the same period of 2018 which recorded a total of 135,655 arrivals from these three countries.
