Parliament of Maldives has passed to extend the third term of 2019 until December 5. The decision was made as the last term of the year ends by the end of November as per the parliamentary regulations.
Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed explained the term was extended as important tasks have not been completed, including passing the State Budget 2020 and the amendments for Decentralisation Act.
The first term of the year is from February 1 to April 30, the second term is from June 1 to August 30 and the last term is from October 1 to November 30.
