Ministry of Finance has revealed the state has received over USD 260 million from the tourism sector so far this year.
The statistics published by the finance ministry showed the state received USD 264 million as Tourism Goods and Services Tax (TGST) so far in 2019. Finance ministry projected a revenue of USD 327 million as TGST.
Meanwhile, the state has received USD 46.5 million from Green Tax so far, while it is estimated to receive USD 58 million in 2019.
Moreover, 155 resorts, 553 guesthouses and 12 city hotels are in operation as of September this year, according to statistics.
