Judge Abdulla Areef
Judicial Services Commission (JSC) has tasked Judge Abdulla Areef with temporarily managing the Supreme Court of Maldives.
The decision follows the suspension of Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi due to ongoing investigations into his disciplinary issues.
JSC additionally submitted a motion to the parliament recommending to dismiss the chief justice and Supreme Court Judge Adam Mohamed Abdulla. Parliamentary Committee on Judiciary has approved their dismissal after reviewing the recommendation from JSC.
JSC publicised on Tuesday that it is currently probing into 51 cases of 4 judges.
