Austria have expressed interest to expand trade and economic cooperation with Maldives and enhance the overall bilateral relations between both countries. The interest was made during a call by Ambassador of Austria, Brigitte Öppinger-Walchshofer on Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives Abdulla Shahid.
During the meeting held at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Shahid welcomed the proposals and expressed hope for deeper engagement with Austria.
Ambassador Öppinger-Walchshofer is currently visiting the Maldives to attend the first round of Maldives -EU business roundtable.
