A workshop on the use of electronic evidence in investigations targeted to authorities from South East Asia and South Asia has commenced in the Maldives.
The workshop that runs from September 1-3 was inaugurated by Ariana Lepper, an official from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes (UNODC). She discussed the importance of electronic evidence in investigations and the need for inter-agency collaboration between various investigative authorities.
Representatives from United Nations Counter Terrorism Executive Committee and experts from International Association of Prosecutors also addressed the participants at the inauguration. 49 participants from 13 countries attend the meeting in Kurumba Maldives. The participants come from India, Indonesia, Laos, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Thailand and the US.
The workshop is organised by UNODC the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) and the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) in addition to the Maldives National Counter Terrorism.
