Noorbaan elected to the Executive Committee of Bar Council

Noorbaan Fahmy has won the election held to elect a member for the executive committee of Bar Council of Maldives.

In the election held on Saturday, Noorbaan won 101 votes, while her opponent, Abdul Salam Arif got 97 votes.

Last July, the Bar Council elected a members for the executive committee. However, Aisha Shujoon Mohamed resigned from the executive committee following her appoint to the bench of the Supreme Court of Maldives.

All regulatory power related to legal professionals, including issuing licenses and penalisation falls within the mandate of the Bar Council.
