President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed five members to the Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) which coordinates state-owned enterprises.
PCB appointed Hassan Waheed as the new President and Asim Mohamed as the Vice President. Other newly appointed members to the board include Aishath Shaazly, Rushaha Ahmed Shareef and Ali Shafeeu.
The previous president of the PCB resigned last August and there is still one vacant seat to be filled in the 7-member board.
The names of all new appointees will be presented to the parliament for approval before taking office.
