Minister of Planning and Infrastructure Mohamed Aslam has called on students to reduce their reliance on home tuition. The minister's remarks came during the annual prize-day of Aminiya School held for the year 2019.
Speaking as the chief guest of the ceremony, Housing Minister Aslam further stated secondary education is the actual foundation of education and the students need assistance from parents and teachers to choose their desired fields of studies. He said knowledge in any subject is not worthless and students require work experience in the chosen fields of studies, adding it is better to reduce relying on private tuition.
Speaking at the ceremony, the school principal Nazleen Wafir said opinions from students are crucial to build a better personality in themselves. The principal said parents must ensure time spent by students with friends and colleagues are used in the most fruitful manner. Nazleen stated further that in the current digital age, the world continues to progress technologically, as such parents need to keep a check on the students' use of social media to keep things in balance.
A trophy was awarded to the school's Deputy Captain Mariyam Inaan Ibrahim, the best all round student of the school in 2018.
