Maldives Media Council (MMC) has awarded Prestigious Diamond Pens of Honour to four, marking their significant contributions to Maldivian media.
Vice President Faisal Naseem presented the most prestigious awards during the Journalism Award Ceremony 2018 organized by MMC. In addition to the Prestigious Diamond Pens of Honour, 9 were awarded Diamond Pens, and Golden Pens was awarded to 12.
The four to receive Prestigious Diamond Pens of Honour are:
Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed, Ahmed Abdulla, Ibrahim Umar Manik and Mohamed Waheed (Madulu).
Diamond Pens were presented to, Sinan Ali, Mohamed Jinah, Abdulla Rameez, Mohamed Shathir, Mohamed Zahir, Hassan Mohamed, Mohamed Jawad Yousuf, Midhuhath Adam and Saif Azhar.
Golden Pens were presented to: Ibrahim Zaki, Mohamed Afsal, Mohamed Waheed, Shehenaz Abdul Rahman, Ali Yousuf, Mohamed Shahid, Ismail Abdul Gafoor, Ahmed Muhusin, Moonisa Easa, Jadulla Saeed, Sharath Ahmed and Hafsee Abdulla.
During the event to recognise the efforts of local journalists, reporters and media outlets, awards were presented in various other categories as well.
