Fenaka Corporation Limited has stated, the problem of power failure in Addu City has been rectified and electricity has been restored to all wards of the city. Earlier the company stated that they would require seven hours to solve power failure problem.
However, Fenaka solved the issue within five hours. The blackout was attributed to an issue in the city's power distribution networks and the power had to be cut from the main generator to accommodate repair work.
During this period, generators were sent to the hospital and airport to ensure uninterrupted service. The company stated, measures had been taken to avoid the repetition of such problems in the future. Fenaka also stressed on the need to increase power capacity to 25 megawatts as to meen the demand of the population.
