President Solih officiates closing ceremony of linguistic festival

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has officiated the closing ceremony of 'Miladhekunu Adhabee Eid 2019', a linguistic festival on Dhivehi language.

The ceremony was held, Saturday night, at the harbour area of Manadhoo island, South Noonu Atoll. As the Guest of Honour, President Solih gave away awards and certificates to the top achieving schools and individuals.

The Linguistic Eid consisted of a children's cultural evening, a special book fair, poetry skills training programme, linguistic training programme for government institutions and a training programme for students and teachers on Dhivehi Language.

The President was accompanied at the closing ceremony by the Minister of Arts, Culture and Heritage Yumna Maumoon, and other senior institutional representatives.

Dhivehi Bahuge Academy hosts the annual linguistic Eid to create awareness and passion among students on Dhivehi language. This year, the linguistic Eid was held in Manadhoo Island from the 11th to 14th of September. This is the 5th edition of the national linguistic Eid organized by Dhivehi Bahuge Academy. The festival was previously held in North Gaafu Atoll, South Gaafu Atoll, Lhaviyani Atoll and Meemu Atoll.

President Solih has now returned to Male' City, on conclusion of this trip.
