Hussain Rasheed Ahmed appointed to a senior position at Foreign Ministry

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Hussain Rasheed Ahmed as an Additional Secretary at Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The appointment was made on Thursday.

Hussain Rasheed Ahmed was appointed as a State Minister at Ministry of Home Affairs and later as a State Minister at Ministry of Islamic Affairs during the presidency of former President Mohamed Nasheed. He was also appointed as the chair of the presidential commission during the Nasheed administration. He was a leading member of Adhaalath Party, rising to the highest position of the party before allying himself with Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).

Hussain Rasheed Ahmed is the third Additional Secretary appointed for foreign ministry.
