President congratulates Morocco’s first female prime minister

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri on her appointment as Morocco’s first female prime minister.

In a message, President Muizzu described the appointment as a historic milestone for Morocco and the wider Arab world, noting that El Mansouri is the second woman in the Arab world to hold such a position.

He said her appointment represented a significant example of women’s leadership and an inspiration to women around the world.

The President also reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to advancing women’s rights and promoting women’s participation in public life.

El Mansouri was appointed by King Mohammed VI on 29 September after her Authenticity and Modernity Party won the largest number of seats in Morocco’s parliamentary election. She has been tasked with forming a new government. ([Maroc][1])

President Muizzu also highlighted the longstanding friendly relations between the Maldives and Morocco, based on mutual respect and cooperation.

He expressed his eagerness to work with El Mansouri to further strengthen bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of both countries.

He concluded by wishing her success in her new role and in her efforts to advance the progress and prosperity of Morocco and its people.
