President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has send his heartfelt condolences to the families of the 5 people whose lives were taken in the tragic speed boat capsizing incident that occurred near Hanimadhoo in Haa Dhaalu Atoll.
Speaking at the at the ceremony held commemorating the 50th anniversary of Buruni School, President Solih noted that he heard of the devastating incident with deep sorrow. The president noted 3 people from the same family died along with a minor of just age three during the incident. He also urged to pray to Almighty Allah for His eternal blessings on the souls of the departed and to grant the members of their families the fortitude and strength to bear these great personal losses.
A total of 9 people were travelling from Nolhivaranfaru to Hanimadhoo when the speed boat capsized due to bad weather.
