Ministry of Foreign Affairs has started work on establishing a consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in accordance with the decision taken by President of the Republic of Maldives.
The consulate office to be established in Jeddah will provide support and assistance to Maldivian Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, students, families and Maldivians visiting Saudi Arabia.
The opening of the consulate with the commencement of services in its official capacity will be announced by the Ministry at a later date, according to foreign ministry.
Establishment of consular services in Jeddah was announced by President Solih in his Presidential Address delivered at the opening of the parliament for 2019.
