MRM to submit registration documents on August 20

Maumoon Reform Movement (MRM) has revealed the membership forms it has so far collected will be submitted to Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM) on August 20.

According to Abdul Aleem heading the membership movement, the signatures required to register MRM as a political party have now been collected. Abdul Aleem revealed efforts are underway to double-check the forms and documents to register the party will be submitted after Eid holidays on August 20. He further extended a special thanks to former President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom for his role in collecting the signatures to form MRM.

On February 1, ECM permitted MRM to begin collecting 3,000 signatures needed to register as a political party.

MRM is the third party formed with the advisory of former President Maumoon. Previously, he headed Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP) and Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).
