Home Minister appeals to be exemplary in fulfilling police duties

Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla has appealed to the police officers to be exemplary in fulfilling their duties, noting not every action will be accepted by all individuals.

Addressing the ceremony held to mark the Police Memorial Day 2019, Home Minister Imran stated when fulfilling the lawfully mandated tasks, officers should understand the decisions would not be accepted or acknowledged by all. Noting when in duty, some people will torment and daunt, the home minister appealed to police to show the best behaviour.

Furthermore, the minister called to follow all procedures and act upon laws and regulations at all times. He reiterated that police officers are courageous and will not step back in difficult times, adding every police officer is trained to face difficulties and maintain peace.

Moreover, Minister Imran mentioned the police institution and the whole nation will back the police officers and their families in every situation. Highlighting in order to carry out the tasks, the cooperation of the public is required, he urged the citizens to support the police officers in enduring their mandated tasks.

Police Memorial Day is celebrated to commemorate the brave officers who gave their lives in the line of duty. Since 2012, the day has been marked every year on July 23.
