JSC to counsel 3 supreme court judges

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has decided to counsel Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi and Supreme Court Judges Abdulla Areef and Adam Mohamed Abdulla.

JSC made the decision following two complaints investigated by a committee. The decision was made when the investigative report was submitted and passed at a JSC meeting.

The meeting was chaired by President of JSC Abdulla Areef. However, Vice President Masthoor Husnee presided over the item which decided to take action against the three judges. JSC passed to give Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi and the two judges a period of 30 days to respond to the report as required by Article 30 of Judicial Service Commission Act.

Meanwhile, JSC is also working to submit a motion at the parliament to remove Chief Justice Ahmed Abdulla Didi from the position.
