President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appreciated the warm welcome accorded to Maldives by the Government of Mauritius. President Solih personally thanked the acting President of Mauritius Paramasivum Pillay Barlen Vyapoory at the official meeting as part of the ongoing official visit to Mauritius.
During the meeting, both leaders discussed ways to further enhance mutual relations between the two countries which is a task given priority due to the many shared challenges face as island nations in the Indian Ocean. President Solih then thanked the acting president for the extremely warm welcome accorded to himself, First Lady Fazna Ahmed, and the accompanying delegation, by the Mauritanian Government since their arrival.
Furthermore, the president expressed eagerness to witness many of the sporting events that have been scheduled to take place in the upcoming days in the Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG) held in Mauritius. Ending the call, President Solih asked the acting president to convey warmest regards to the government and people of Mauritius.
