First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has emphasised the importance of compassion and determination in the healthcare profession. She made the remarks on Thursday during a ceremony held in Maradhoo-Feydhoo, Addu City, marking the 43rd anniversary of the Feydhoo Health Centre.
In her speech, the First Lady expressed the deep personal connection she feels with the healthcare sector, describing it as closely tied to her memories, experiences, and emotions.
The First Lady reflected on the introduction of allopathic medicine to Feydhoo Island and the island’s current healthcare landscape. Emphasising the importance of compassion and determination in the healthcare field, she highlighted the need for a calm and thoughtful approach in addressing complex issues.
The event also featured the presentation of commemorative plaques to individuals who have played a vital role in the development of the Feydhoo Health Centre. Awards were given to outstanding employees, and the First Lady honoured long-serving staff with special plaques in recognition of over 30 years of dedicated service.
