Former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb has returned back to Maldives after completing his medical treatment.
The former vice president was initially scheduled to arrive in Maldives on June 26. However, Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has extended the period by an additional 10 days as doctors have advised him to undergo cancer screening. He travelled to Bangalore, India for medical treatment on June 17.
Amid serious allegations levied against Adeeb, he was accompanied by officers from MCS and Maldives Police Service throughout his medical visit.
