Maldives say security cooperation with the US has remained exemplary

Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has said security cooperation with the US has remained exemplary.

In a message, to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on the occasion of the 243rd Independence Day of the US, Minister Shahid highlighted O=over the past years, the US have been a close partner contributing immensely to the socio-economic advancement of the Maldives. The minister said the relationship has flourished this year, with expanded cooperation in multiple areas, grounded in mutual respect, sincerity, and trust.

The foreign minister expressed firm belief the close cordial ties between the two nations will prosper in the years to come.
