Health Minister calls to prioritise providing quality services

Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen has called to prioritise providing quality services to establish a comprehensive health sector.

Addressing the ceremony held to celebrate the 49-year anniversary of Thaa Atoll Hospital, the health minister expressed efforts are underway to improve and enhance the health sector. The minister said the main aim of human resource in health sector is to strengthen the public health sector, adding although facilities are fully equipped with latest technologies, a healthy society will not be maintained without proper services. He highlighted the result of an unhealthy society is the increased expense on health sector.

During the ceremony held to celebrate the 49th anniversary of Thaa Atoll Hospital, plaques of appreciation was conferred to staff who served the hospital for a long period. Moreover, the minister inaugurated the labour room established in the hospital.

Thaa Atoll Hospital has the capacity of 26 beds and provides specialist services in 5 areas. The hospital was launched on June 12, 1970.
