Adeeb given 10 more days to complete medical treatment

Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has extended the period given to former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb to complete his medical treatment.

MCS said an extension of 10 days was given to Adeeb as doctors have advised him to undergo cancer screening. MCS revealed it has extended the period until July 6, upon a request from his family.

As per the initial agreement, Adeeb was due to complete his medical treatment and arrive in Maldives today. He has been undergoing medical treatment from Bengaluru, India since June 17.

Amid serious allegations levied against Adeeb, he is accompanied by officers from MCS and Maldives Police Service throughout his medical visit.

Meanwhile, Supreme Court has ordered Maldives immigration to hold Adeeb's passport. The Supreme Court ordered Maldives Immigration to hold his passport as the state appealed to nullify the High Court verdict on graft allegations.
