Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed has assured the government will not let investors be dismayed.
The tourism minister stated when terminating agreements, the government will follow due procedures and no agreement will be terminated without proper surveys. He noted all legal agreements will be fully respected, adding if any agreement or project is terminated, solutions and options will be provided to investors and contractors.
Highlighting the administration prioritise environmental protection, he assured the government will halt projects which damages the environment.
Citing Environment Impact Assessment (EIA), the government has terminated resort development projects in Odagalla in Gaafu Alifu Atoll and Innafushi in Baa Atoll.
